Intro to Windows/Computers - Learn the basics of operating your computer, from how to turn it on to using simple word processing and a graphics program. No prerequisite! Please feel free to attend this series of classes as often as you would like! Math Lab - Math for employment test, collage prep, for GED. Math from arithmetic to calculus - from basics to brush up. Open Lab - Come in and take advantage of all the wonderful resources of the Trining Center. Meet one-on-one with an instructor to work on computer skills, Job seeking strategies, Resume building, Exploring different software such as PhotoShop, I Tunes and PowerPoint. Use the intermet and get help with searching strategies. Chech out plato and Typing Tutor to work independently on skills, Get help with tutoring and editing as well. Email on the internet - This class is designed to set up a free Email account for you. You are also welcome if you already have email through one of these providers ( Yahoo!,Hotmail, MSN, etc.). You'll learn to read & compose messages, create folders to file emails, and save contacts in your eail address book for easy access. Resume Writing/Cover LetterWriting - Stop by for assistance composing your cover letter(s) and resume(s). We'll work with your existing resume or help you create one from scratch. Attend these sessions as many times as you need. Personality & Aptitude Test for Careers - Keirsey Temperament Sorter to find your Myers-Briggs profile. Using the book "Do What YouAre" learn more about your employment possibilities. Explore some other asseasments as well. Networking for a job - How to Begin - Working through friends, family, acquaintances and coworkers to get access to job opportunities. This is perhaps the most effective method of getting a job. Intro to Word - Learn the basics of creating/saving/editing/formatting a document using Microsoft Word. Intro to Excel - Learn the basics of creating a spreadsheet/setting up formulas/editing and formating using Microsoft Excel. Intro to PowerPoint - Learn the basics of creating a slide show using you computer and Microsoft PowerPoint . You'll learn how to create various types of slides, utilize design templates, apply animation techniques and create speaker notes. |
